Who we are:

LISA E. HIRSCH, President of Go Green Wholesale, Inc.
For two decades, the activism of Lisa E. Hirsch in support of local
environmental efforts reflects her ongoing commitment to “quality of life”
for the Mobile region. Lisa directs energy to a wide range of community
endeavors. Past undertakings include the following “green” highlights:

  • Chaired a local anti-litter campaign that received a national award
    from Keep America Beautiful.
  • Initiated an ozone awareness campaign between the Medical
Society of Mobile County and the
  • Advertising Federation of Greater Mobile.
  • Assisted in the early positioning of West Bay Watch with the intent
to have environmental aspects considered regarding balancing
economic development and quality of life issues. (West Bay Watch is now Mobile BayKeepers.)
  • Served on the Mobile/Baldwin Air Quality Study as one of eight individuals to work on a Sub Panel – with weekly meetings with input from the E.P.A. - reviewing the potential health impact of unregulated air toxins existing in the areas’ air shed. Consensus formed creating the Community Based Expectations for both carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic inhalation pathogens.

CURRENTLY:

  • Lisa volunteers on the Steering Committee of Green Coast, having recently served on the 2008
  • Green Coast Conference in April that collaborated with the local chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council to focus on LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) and a “green” vendors’ expo.
  • Lisa belongs to the local chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.
  • On behalf of Envision Coastal Alabama, Lisa serves as a volunteer Project Manager to create a directory of all local green non-profit efforts.
  • With three children attending UMS-Wright Preparatory School, Lisa serves as the first ever
  • Environmental Liaison for the Parents Association. The Environmental Committee will strive to coordinate and nurture all “green” efforts by building consensus among staff and faculty, providing support from the Parents Association and empowering the growing interest among the student body.

Having been the Development Director of The Community Foundation of South Alabama, Lisa now embarks on a new career path that allows her to continue to be engaged with the non-profit sector yet employs her in the private sector. With the creation of Go Green Wholesale, Inc., Lisa closely aligns her interest and enthusiasm for “good stewardship” by now utilizing her knowledge as a business owner.

Go Green Wholesale offers a wide range of products to businesses and organizations in bulk at wholesale prices. All products sold must meet criteria of the Product Selection Steering Committee for “good stewardship” regarding environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

With Lisa E. Hirsch as the principal of Go Green Wholesale, businesses that choose to practice environmental stewardship may rest assured that their well intended purchases are of legitimate green products and not “greenwash” products. Furthermore, Go Green Wholesale is the first local business to join an international business alliance, 1% For The Planet, which verifies that at least 1% of all sales are given to green non-profits.

ALAN V. HIRSCH, Vice President of Go Green Wholesale, Inc.
As the sole owner of Bay Paper Company, Alan V. Hirsch manages the oldest wholesale paper & janitorial distribution business in the Mobile area. Known for providing superior service, Bay Paper lists numerous “economic engines” among its’ customer base.

CURRENTLY:

  • Alan serves on the Advisory Board of the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce.
  • Within the wholesale distribution industry, Alan serves as an Executive Vice President for The United Group. (In 1983, Bay Paper became a Charter Member of The United Group – which is now a multi-billion dollar alliance of independent paper houses that negotiates for the best pricing from manufacturers.)

With more than thirty years of experience in wholesale distribution, Alan’s primary role with Go Green Wholesale is as a business mentor. The existing warehouse and distribution system of Bay Paper Company empowers Go Green Wholesale -for a business to business fee – with the ability to reliably service customers like a “well oiled machine”.
